The “IMPACT LUXEMBOURG” label was created to bring greater visibility to Social impact companies (SIS) and to support their efforts in advancing the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE).
In 2016, reflections on establishing a specific legal status for companies that support the social and solidarity economy led to the adoption of a law creating Social impact companies (SIS). A Social impact company (SIS) is aimed at any individual or legal entity, whether acting alone or in partnership, that seeks to establish a business committed to activities grounded in the principles of the social and solidarity economy.
Through the SIS approval, values of solidarity, altruism, and non-profit orientation are supported, encouraged, and showcased—not as secondary features but as core values of socially committed companies.
